53 North and Port Austin Artists in Residency (PAAIR) invite you to celebrate the completion of Confronting Loneliness, the latest 53 North installation by BakPak Durden. Durden is one of Detroit’s most critically acclaimed and sought-after artists with recent showings at Cranbrook Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, and the University of Michigan Stamps Art Gallery, among others. Confronting Loneliness was inspired by the work Port Austin poet Jane Mayes and her Drawn in Dust collection.
Join us for poetry, drinks and light snacks as we unveil another stunning work of art for the community.
