Songwriter Showcase at the Port Austin Community Playhouse
The Port Austin Artist in Residence program is proud to present the 2nd annual Songwriter Showcase at the Port Austin Community Playhouse! Featuring performances by local favorite Nicholas James Thomasma, along with Nashville, TN based Rachael Davis and featuring the guests of the Port Austin Artist in Residence Songwriter Retreat weekend. Admission is $15. Doors at 6:30, show at 7pm.

The Bay Concert Band Performs at Gallup Park
The Bay Concert Band has been invited to perform at Gallup Park in Port AustinI by the Port Austin Artist in Residence program. The concert is free to attend. Bring a chair and take an afternoon drive out to Port Austin for a fantastic concert!

Writing Flash Fiction: A Creative Writing Workshop with artist in residence Kelli Fitzpatrick
Participants will learn tips and tricks for writing flash fiction stories under 1,000 words. The workshop will include an overview of the elements of flash fiction, some interactive practice and fast drafting time, and some example feedback on a volunteer participant’s work. The workshop is appropriate for beginners and experienced writers. Bring pen and paper or a charged device. No registration required, open to the public.

David will be hosting a talk called “Young Equanimity” on Thursday at 7pm at the Bee Barn.

Field Trip! - Scott Hocking Retrospective at Cranbook Art Museum
Join us for a field trip to an retrospective featuring Scott Hocking, the artist behind the “Celestial Ship of the North (Emergency Ark)” here in Huron County. We will be organizing bus transportation for our group from Port Austin to Cranbrook Art Museum. The cost is $35/person and includes transportation and admission to the exhibit.
